The Alana McCree was purchased from BVI Yacht Charters in Tortola in 2010. She was formerly the Blue Pearl. It is common to name a boat for the woman most important in your life. I have two, my wife and daughter. Naming the boat after one would exclude the other, so I decided to use the Gaelic phase my father-in-law used to address my wife and daughter, as well as all his daughters and granddaughters. My wife and her family come from County Kildare, Ireland. My father-in-law would address them as: “A leanbh mo chroi”, which means: “child of my heart”. A close phonetic spelling is: Alana McCree.
